Document some solutions for not being able to open the Settings menu in the
GNOME desktop environment. BUT NOTE THAT even if the problem phenomenon
is the same, the cause or solution is not the same. Therefore, the following cases are just to
provide some ideas.
Case 1
Scenario
After upgrading from Debian 11 to Debian 12, the Settings menu cannot be opened.
Solution
Run sudo apt install gnome-control-center to install gnome-control-center(1).
